Poinsettia
This is a square acrylic painting on cradle board of a red poinsettia flower.
Poinsettias were first cultivated by the Aztecs for traditional medicine.
They are now associated with Christmas with their bright star-like flowers and contrasting leaves.
These plants are great for growing as they are easily propagated and give a bright splash of colour to the garden.
The sides are painted a deep blue-black and there are D rings and a wire for hanging.
