Artwork Description

Oil on wood, ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Framed in slightly rustic white timber frame

This painting is inspired by my love of blue and white china, and simple oldfashioned garden flowers such as the oyster plant ( acanthus mollis), blue echiums and statice. My wish was to make a painting featuring these blue flowers and blue objects such as my favourite egg dish, blue glass and pottery vases and an antique willow pattern teacup saucer and plate, along with a couple of pretty little blue and white china wall plaques.

A jarradale pumkin from the garden can be seen, eggs from the chooks,
and secaturs placed over a plate in tribute to Margaret Olleys placements of knives on plates in her still life compositions.
