Oil on wood
Signed on the front.
I found a couple of old unfinished works in the studio and am working on completing them, this is the first one of the two that could be displayed individually or together as a diptych. They are inspired by a clearing sale on a very extreme fire danger day in western Victoria, water bottles were a must and no parking of petrol vehicles on long grass, everyone arriving was instructed on best escape roads in case of the worst. I bought, some round sawmill blades, a dilapidated wooden cart and who knows what else, and we bought the farm. The main character in this painting became our neighbour, ( theres a neighbour in every crowd at most events in the country) i was taking photos and he just walked right up and stood there like a dare , i snapped the shot, it made the composition what it is.
The second of the two paintings can be seen half finished on the left in one of the photos and will be sold separately at this stage.
