Ink on Yupo Paper

I am intrigued by nature. It is complicated yet is a perfect harmony of functions, colours, and shapes. Nature is a source of inspiration for my work which is manifested in abstract formats. My response to nature through art is mimicking it by painting spontaneously. I never know what the final outcome will be until the artwork has fully dried and stop moving, spreading and reacting. It can be thrilling yet at times yield disappointing results.

The techniques I use include manipulating, pouring, dropping, and splashing the paints and then observing the interaction. This process has been the result of years of practice and experimenting with different techniques. I pour paints on the canvas and watch as colours mingle with one another in a free and natural manner. Limited control over my own works likens how much or little control we have over nature. I can only influence my work with my choice of colours, and my application of specific techniques, but the remainder is left to the laws of gravity and other laws of nature.
