Inspired by the expansive horizons of this 'Blue Labyrinth', I began a series of works to discover what makes this part of the Blue Mountains so special to me.
The horizon is a dominant feature in my painting, I love to capture how it changes - depending on the seasons, time of day and the weather. With this series of small works on board, I was challenging myself to add more detail and colour to the landscape. Painting mostly with a palette knife, I enjoyed building up texture in the paint.
