As the sun set on this summer day on an island off the coast of Portland Maine, I photographed and took note.
I first sketched this scene in ink and then watercolour, but this painting in acrylic really captured for me, more of the feeling of the peaceful stillness, only broken by a stray fisherman's boat & the occasional foghorn.
