I enjoy iconic scenes around Melbourne and Melurnians going about their every day lives. This work captures the No 35 heritage tram, being boarded close to St Paul's Cathedral, Chapter House Lane and The Forum. Tram 35 runs round a designated route in Melbourne past many of its great icons. The green tram in this work is unusual in that the City Circle Tram is normally in a burgundy livery. The green livery is, however, the more traditional colour of Melbourne's previous tram fleet. The heritage trams contrast with the modern trams, they rattle, shake, do not have air conditioning but are recognised and loved by Melburnians and tourists to Melbourne. The scene is located at the tram stop on the busy corner of Flinders Street and Swanston Street. St Paul's Cathedral draws the eye to the road, past Chapter House Lane and up to the Forum. Awarded Very Highly Commended at 2019 Royal Melbourne Show.
