Tamara Amidy is an Australian Sydney artist with a wide variety of styles and ever-changing mediums. Recently including contemporary abstract painting, acrylic portraits and human body study, realistic pencil and pastel drawing, with a current interest in the exploration of colour, shape and people.
Her artistic process began as a child having a keen interest in all things art related. Many hours growing up were spent drawing and testing out new ideas and materials. Tamara is currently studying towards a University Degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts and has also previously completed a University Degree in Bachelor of Arts Communications. Tamara studied Photography and Visual Arts in High School and finished a short drawing course at Sydney’s Julian Ashton Art School.
Tamara has been completely consumed by painting and drawing with the desire to learn and create constantly.Her abstract art is characterised by lyrical vibrant colours, intertwining shapes and aesthetically pleasing compositions. Inspired to evoke a sense of visual delight for the viewer and create an elated journey for the eye. Realistic works are another favourite, requiring fine detail and smooth blend of colours and experimenting with a variety of mediums.
Tamara has been commissioned to produce several artworks for many private residences throughout NSW and interstate. A piece recently has come in second place at Rubi Samadhi Gallery for the Wanderlust exhibition and another auctioned at a local charity event for “Grace’s Place”, a hospice for families who have experienced trauma, which raised funds to contribute to their centre.
