Artwork Description

This is a "Bush Tucker Dreaming" story. It indicates where on Gudjala country certain bush foods are located and at which times of the year it can be collected. Some bush medicine is used for consumption and some is used for healing or ceremonial reasons also. The 3 larger circles at the centre indicate the older and senior women of the tribe. They are the keepers of the Dreaming that teaches them this knowledge. Over time this knowledge is passed onto other women who will inherit this through rite of passage which occurs through tribal initiation as indicated through the 8 smaller circles.
