Artwork Description

OWL IN THE MOONLIGHT ... The owl is a sacred totem. To hear him call more than once in the middle of the night or for many nights - means that he is the bearer of bad news. He is the bird who brings the news that someone has passed on into the Dreaming. Given his significance to lore and tribal connection, I had to depict his image in a painting although I am very mindful of his meaning. The owl is still a part of our connection to the land even in modern times, as he has the spirit of a wise old tribal man. 2014
