This painting represents a little native Cockatoo from Mt Barney in South East Queensland. He is the smallest of the 5 black cockatoos. This bird is currently endangered as the Cassurina tree is being bulldozed, to the point where these birds are considered endangered. I painted lines across his chest to give him strength through the Ancestors. I painted feathers around the borders to offer him protection and to keep him safe as he flies through the sky.
