"No one gets my spirals because they expect other stuff. I’m talking here about movement, a going around and arrival at an inner place. My works are actually mandalas but conceived in the genre of ‘primitive surreal’, a genre that formed out of the necessity to reinvent reality. Notice how I offer the option of escaping through the left frame. This device allows you to come back. You’ll want to rest in quiet waters, between the icebergs and the walls of the sea. A magical well, cut from the crystal of creation by the sharp side of the moon is only a chimera, a glimpse of the rocky edges of Eden. Go in there and you’ll start again."
