Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Love the Australian Magpie, although I have a love hate relationship. As a kid I was always the one who was swopped, they used to get me riding my bike or if ever near them in Spring, protecting their little ones. They would nip me under the ear. My solution was to wear a painted paper plate with a face on it :) My love for them though, is the straight strong black and white colour and colourful eye.

Painted with high quality pure oil paint on canvas, keeping the background muted so the black and white stands out on the bird. Used a Skin tone pink to bring in the natural colours of nature.

Australian magpie is ready to fly anywhere in the world, one of my kookaburras has already flown out to USA.

Recommended frame - floating natural Tasmanian Oak
