This artwork is a one-off original by me! It was created with love and lots of energy for the wonderful person who wants this vibrant artwork for a special room in their home or office.
NOW, ABOUT THE PAINTING:
Morris the Macaw is inspired by my research into endangered animals. Whilst they are quite common in mainland South America they are on the verge of being extirpated in Paraquay.
I felt really free creating this paintings - it was exciting to let the hand do what it wanted and let Morris come alive. The blue and yellow Macaw has a complex mix of complementary colours that make a truly unique piece of artwork.
Who’s ‘Morris’ I hear you ask? Well, he’s just from my imagination but I do love to give my paintings rememberable names.
ABOUT THE PAINTINGS QUALITY:
The canvas is artist grade gallery cotton with the following:
• Canvas Weight 380gsm - 100% Cotton Canvas
• 3 coats of Titanium White Acrylic Primed Gesso
• New Zealand Pine Kiln Dried Stretcher Bars 35mm deep
• Gallery stretched for painting on the canvas edge
• Double stapled on the back of the stretcher
The paint I use is also artist quality and the artwork is protected with 2 coats of Liquidex High Gloss Varnish.
ONE LAST THING:
The placement of the painting in the interior image may not be 100% to scale, but it does look amazing doesn’t it!
