‘Rainy Day’ is about finding beauty in the mundane. It evokes the feeling of winter looking through the distorted, almost abstract filter of condensation and rain covered glass onto a street scene as passers-by hurry about their business oblivious to the beauty around them.

This artwork proved a challenge to paint in terms of the level of detail and the amount of time it took to complete. Each drop water was individually formed with many having their own highlight and shadow – literally days of effort went into creating hundreds of droplets.

This artwork has a stained Tasmanian oak shadow frame with the framed dimensions of 64cm (w) x 64cm (h) x 5.5cm (d).
