This image was one of a series based on maritime geomety; the hulls, sails and equipment seen on yachts and sailboats.
Strong colour became an important aspect to portray the blues, greens and aquas of ocean and sky. When constructing a collage, the end is never clear but the journey is very exciting. Many choices have to be made in positioning each element, and the way pieces fit together can be surprising and unexpected. This intuitive method of working is very satisfying, both in process and hopefully in the completed work.
