Some quick geography for you.
‘Fraser Island is located off the Queensland coast an easy days drive north of Brisbane with a short 500 metre ferry trip leaving from Inskip Penisuala. The island is 120km long, 24km wide, and is the largest sand island in the world and therfore the entire island is four wheel drive access only.
It’s quite an adventure when traveling along the firm sands of 75 mile Beach at low tide. The land side is green, lush vegetationn and the other crashing surf the sound of which can completely dull the approach of 4WDs and.... you always have to watch for small aircraft taking off and landing because the beach also doubles as a runway.
After completeing this trip I was inspired to capture this unique experience. One of only two places in the world where planes are allowed to land on the firm sands like 75 mile Beach’.
