A tropical caye, also spelled key, is a small, low-elevation, sandy island on the surface of a coral reef. Cayes occur in tropical environments throughout the Paci c, Atlantic and Indian Oceans and on the Great Barrier Reef.
In this painting I tried to capture the peace and solitude away from the noisy and hectic city. Where there are no crowds, no cars, no traf c jams. Where one can imagine the sound of crystal clear water gently lapping against the bow as you drift through a shallow sandy passage between the coral towards the soft golden sands of a tropical uninhabited caye.
