OCEANIC Shallows is an ocean influence abstract. Unique markings and an ogangnic approach is started and then honed to keep the feature that I love. A heavy impasto has been pored and allowed to dry as a sculpture focal point of olive green and I’ve added a touch of copper to the mix which gives a shimmer. A surrounding of Matt chocolate impasto applied with large palette knife to create grooves, divots and movement grounding the olive formation. Washes and detail marking in white then further color washes are applied and repeated. Crushed paper into heavy body texture mediums to give a rough organic texture and rewashed adding a variation to the color tones. Final details using inks and liquitex infused with color..
The sides are finished in white. The work is a combination of Matt and satin finishes.
