I usually prefer not to label my work. What it says to me, will inevitably be different to what it says to you.
To me, this piece is a metaphor for the mask people wear in public. In this case, the clear shiny resin coating is the mask or facade. Being transparent, it allows us to see the blemished, imperfect, oftentimes worn down , in other words - 'real' selves. The part of us few people ever get to see.
