The Remnant is the view from the artist’s lane in Brooklet, northern NSW, looking towards Fernleigh ridge, captured on a dry, smoky spring afternoon. Locally the term ‘remnant’ refers to a tiny remaining pocket of The Big Scrub rainforest that once blanketed 900 sq km of this region. Due to land clearing less than 1% of TBS remains.
The Remnant was a finalist in the 30 x 30 national art prize Dec 2017.
