I Don't Need You shows a strong and confident woman. But the chaos of the world around her, represented by the harsh lines and texture of the background, make the viewer feel that perhaps she isn't as OK as she seems. Like many of my paintings, the hint of a window or the world outside represents hope or a way out from whatever is holding us hostage to ourselves.
