Influence: My favourite pelican comes from Australia. Its long pink bill, white and black feathers and giant webbed feet are a sight to behold whether swimming in the great oceans or flying through the air.
During my travels along our beautiful beaches which surround Australia, I come across these wondrous creatures many a time either single or in a pod. Having my Nikon camera with me as my travel companion, I find myself frequently taking photos of them, capturing them in their natural state; flying, swimming or just standing looking out on to the ocean. On one particular day at the beach I spied a feathered beauty standing, gazing into the distance. Never letting an opportunity go by, I was quick to get my camera lens focused and start “clicking”. He proceeded to start cleaning his feathers as if “en que” with his eye firmly fixed on me. It was a unforgettable day at the beach.
