Influence: Australian pelicans are one of about seventeen species and I believe one of the most beautiful. These large winged birds are seen in various places from our great oceans to the many rivers running throughout our vast land.
This painting depicts a flock of Australian pelicans passing the time on an old unused wooden jetty. This jetty has been a very popular meeting spot for these fanciful birds who have claimed it their own. A tranquil river scene, is it the Murray, the Goulburn or the Yarra?
