Inspired by old family photographs from the 1950s, this painting shows a man searching for shells on Adelaide's Semaphore beach. It celebrates both harsh the Australian sunlight and the subtle the colours of the sea and sand. This painting is from a series of works called 'The Tourists' that explored how my grandparent's generation enjoyed their holidays.
The painting has a jarrah wood frame. The wooden board has been prepared using a sealer and a primer.
