A man sits on a tartan rug on Adelaide's Semaphore beach. He pours a drink from a thermos and looks into the distance. The painting depicts the harsh Australian sunlight, the subtle pinks and creams of the sand and the blues of the sea and sky. This painting is from a series of works called 'The Tourists' that explored how my grandparent's generation enjoyed their holidays; the clothes they wore and the accessories they used.
The painting has a jarrah wood frame. The wooden board has been prepared using a sealer and a primer.
