Acrylic on paper
Signed on the front.
This abstract botanical piece is inspired by a hike down the bush at the start of summer. I have built up layers random repeating prints and "stamps" to give the viewer the feeling and impression of bushland: the flowers, grass, the dry patches and twigs, and wattle and bottle brushes and even grevillea have been drawn on for inspiration. I have used various natural elements to stamp the paper and add to the design. The white border creates a clean, crisp contrast to the wild bushland, and serves to enhance the colour and design. Oil pastels were used as the final touch to add small amounts of detail and definition. The colour palette is bright and varied, and I've used a range of colour that would naturally be seen out for a walk. I love the movement and vibrancy of this piece, and the feeling of natural beauty it captures.
