Judith (Judy) Clingan, born Sydney 1945, is a multi-facetted Australian artist: musician, visual artist, writer, director, educator. She is best known as a musician. In 1986 she’s being invested as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) by Her Majesty the Queen. In 2019 Judy and her friends are working on an amazing event - 79 performers, aged 11 - 77, from Japan, India, Taiwan, Switzerland, Germany and Australia.Heaps of new stuff, by Judy and other living composers, all of it on the topic of our need to wake up to the challenges facing the world - environmental and human. When you learn more about this woman you can clearly see that her contribution to the world of music is astonishing, her role is vital and so very important on so many levels. Thousands of children and adults discovered the joy of music and signing because of Judy’s teaching.
I’ve visited Judy in her granny flat. Very small and a bit dusty but the only thing you’d notice it is the presence of music! That’s why I’ve chosen the brightest colors. It’s the energy of the Music itself. On that red armchair is seating an amazing impossible woman!
