A watercolour on Yupo Paper.
This is my interpretation of John Shaw Neilsons poem 'The Green Singer" !
The green singer being Spring, which in JSN poetry represents youth"
'ALL singers have shadows that follow like fears, But I know a singer who never saw tears: A gay love—a green love— delightsome! divine! The Spring Is that singer- an old love of mine ! '
So writes John Shaw Neilson and his story and poetry are an old love of mine.
I have tried to capture the mood of the poem and this is my interpretation. The poet is represented by the focal bright flower. Readers of JSN poetry will find lot more imagery from the JSN poetic world in this painting.
Not conventional, and purely an indulgence on my part, these intricate series of works are watercolours done on Yupo paper.
Green Singer is quality framed , behind glass and ready to hang.
