Artwork Description

Oil on linen

Signed on the front.

Come with me down to the bottom of the hill from where the crowd melts into sprinkled colour and the flowers into frosting, making our world this day feel alight and alive and sweet.

It's taken from personal experience of the annual Floriade festival in my home town of Canberra, which begins early September every year.

The work is on quality triple-primed Italian linen, unstretched but with ample spare material around the edges to accommodate any framing choice or a simple stretching. It has acrylic underlays of mass colour, with oil paint for true colour in the flowers and other top layers.

I'm happy to assist with framing options or you can choose a frame at checkout from the Bluethumb range. I like to work on unstretched linen as it provides greater freedom in size and shape, and requires less bubblewrap and other packaging for post (which saves on waste!). It also saves you on shipping cost and is wonderfully easy and inexpensive if you need to send overseas in particular.
