This painting of varying shaped vessels with olive branches in one and figs on the striped cloth was inspired by the flavour and colour of ripe figs and luscious olives. I wanted the painting to capture the essence of the Mediterranean afternoon, with rich greens and purples mingling with the warmth of golds and ochres. Figs and olives are prominent, lending a sense of abundance and vitality to the scene. A single bloom unfurls on canvas, a testament to fleeting beauty. This oil painting, titled "Baroque Rose," captures the grandeur of a rose in its twilight hours. The velvety petals, painted in sumptuous shades of sienna and dusty rose, displaying a multitude of folds and curls, hinting at a past of vibrant life.
