About

HI EVERYBODY!!

As of early 2017, I have FINISHED MY FIRST TRILOGY OF NOVELS!!!

Brotherhood of the sword:

book one

The Atrocity Corps

has been sent off to pan-mcmillan! yay! yay!

I suppose I should write about my ART CAREER, since that is why I am here.
Technically...

For ten years, I painted full-time. I KEPT MYSELF ALIVE! Just from painting!
I've won eighteen awards (nineteen as of 5/2016!) in the real not-on-line world, one of them international and including the WA premier's award from Geoff Gallup (he was premier of WA then. Uh.... guess that makes sense, huh? ) He also opened my biggest exhibition in 2004.
I've had ten solo exhibitions, and sold hundreds of paintings, many interstate, some to Europe and a few to the USA.

I have a BA in fine arts, but learned to paint anyway.

Presently I have chronic neuropathic pain. It just started happening in about 2008. I still spend most of every day in a great deal of pain. Because it is caused by a huge lesion the size of an orange in my brain, it is very hard to get painkillers that will do anything.

I have had to learn that it is impossible to paint when you are in pain. I tried for a very long time not to believe that.

It broke my heart.

It is so exciting i made my cat throw up last chapter I finished. I spun her around saying "YAY!" too much. so i haven't been painting anywhere near as much as i like to. Apart from painting I have a side-line in cat straightening - an uncommon skill that i learned in a dzong in Bhutan.

The books aren't published yet - as of April 2017 I have only sent stuff off to one publisher.
I typed them up on microsoft word, and used a pretty small font. So I thought that t'would be ONE book.
Turns out, in print, it is three. Or maybe four. I just finished breaking off the first book YESTERDAY (april 2017).

Cool, huh?
The truth is that I am soooo much better at writing than I am at painting.

It is the best thing that I have done.
