To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surrounding, during its flowering season. This artwork was inspired by a beautiful bouquet of Gerbera gifted by a dear friend of mine.
I wanted to keep this beautiful moment in my memory forever, therefore I decided to freeze the glorious blooming moment on Canvas. A Salute to the beautiful friendship and all the love that we have.


Do you have someone that you care about? Maybe share this artwork with that special someone and say I love you today. Gerbera has a few meanings, but all lean-to happiness. The flowers symbolized happiness and gratefulness for the life you have been given. They are a celebration of life.


The Egyptians believed that the gerbera would lessen the sorrows and stresses of everyday life in the old days. It also has a meaning of closeness to nature and devotion to the sun.
Gerbera Daisies are strong perennial plants with a delightful flower message too - Let happiness be your compass.


The title of this artwork is inspired by:

This artwork was inspired by a day trip to Sassafras, Victoria. This beautiful Scarlet Banksia lay on top of a bunch of wattle caught my attention. <br> Banksia coccinea, native to Western Australia, also known as the scarlet banksia, waratah banksia or Albany banksia, is an erect shrub or small tree in the family Proteaceae. Banksia coccinea plants are killed by bushfire and regenerate from seed. Banksia symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings. To move on from the past courageously, to have the strength to look forward to tomorrow. Wattle flower – the symbol of life, renewal and potential. The green and gold are the national colours of Australia, first used in 1899. <br> All the native blossoms bloom gloriously like a warming sun. Therefore, I have the title - Outshine the Light, for this particular artwork. <br> Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. I admire its grace whenever I walk past the flowering tree. The glossy leaves add shiny-looking foliage with sunlight, along with the gorgeous red flowers and buds, it is captivating. Generally, camellia flowers symbolize love, affection, and admiration. Red camellias symbolize love, passion, and deep desire. <br> Camellia is evergreen, meaning that the leaves stay on the plant all year round. Two giant king proteas stand tall in a white porcelain vase, feels like time has frozen on the spot, quiet and sacred. <br> The king protea is the most popular variety, having one of the largest flower heads in the Protea family. Protea cynaroides, also known as Protea King White. White Protea stands for Purity, Honesty, and Integrity. <br> Protea flowers - native to Australia and South Africa, symbolized Strength, Courage, and Love. Therefore, there’s a saying that protea makes a great gift for someone who's about to embark on an exciting life experience or transformation. I am especially in love with the story behind the name: In Greek legend, proteas were named after Proteus, the son of Poseidon.
