Creativity. Art on Instruments.
“Creativity is any act, idea, or product that changes an existing domain, or that transforms an existing domain into a new one” – Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Creativity – Flow and the Psychology of Discovery and Invention.
So…creativity as an act is music. Creativity as a product that changes a domain is musical instruments and works of art. Creativity combined- Art on instruments. Awesome!
It is particularly beautiful when creative fields are combined. Earlier this week I was searching the web for cool forms of art to show our Instagram followers. I stumbled across a photo of a guitar that had AMAZING illustrations hand drawn on it. I further discovered painted guitars and arty drum kits. These findings were something i felt i needed to share with you all. So please enjoy the following photo’s and don’t hesitate to share on your Facebook, Pintrest and Twitter accounts. Sharing is caring after all! Enjoy!
Lets start with the strings….
This guitar was illustrated by Patrick Fisher. He hand draws these beautiful designs onto stripped guitars with nothing but a sharpie 😮 .. so beautiful.
Now check out this colourful design by Argentinian artist Pez De Tierra. She painted the stripped guitar with acrylic then drew the pattern over the top with a nib and ink.
Artist Samuel Gomez collaborated with Marlow Guitars in London to come up with this incredibly detailed piece…
And this drum kit. Wow. Yamaha Limited Edition Washi 40th Anniversary Drum Kit. The shells feature prints of ancient Japanese art.
And finally a bass drum illustrated by the famous spanish artist Paula Bonet..
