De Gillett paints in a recklessly sumptuous neo-futurist style, layering textures patterns, opaques and glazes to build images of great complexity. She is inspired and obsessed with colour— the brilliance of light, joy, sensuality, motion and emotion. Graduating 2012 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Queensland College of Arts (QCA), Griffith University, Brisbane, De has since then founded a private Art School with her partner Graham Cox; Arts Tree in Wynnum West, Brisbane, Australia.
