Painting for me is part of my life blood and has played a huge role in my life since childhood. I grew up in the grey streets of an industrial town in the U.K. and turned to the gifts of imagination and creativity from an early age to take me on a passion filled artistic, adventure. At my college in Cambridge I actually studied sculpture which enabled me to experience both a tactile, hands on feel for my art and develop a down to earth practical know how in delivering to the viewer what I was intuitively seeing. Over a number of years I taught art in London before moving to Scotland where I exhibited widely whilst pioneering work in art therapy for the disabled. From the cold beauty of ScotIand I then immigrated to Australia where my art has taken on a fresh and powerful dimension. I have found in my art a rich pathway bringing forth from within my being visionary imagery that often helps the viewer to plunge into a world of energy, colour and spirit. In my art I like to express a freedom of spirit giving me the courage to continuously go beyond previous limits. Using dynamic colour and textures I love to combine visionary imagery with a deep sense of the beauty and sacredness within all life.
Approaching the act of creativity with both passionate joy and total presence as an artist I find I can engage in a versatility of subject matter; choosing most of all to give the viewer an invitation to dive right into the painting and participate to the full. As I’ve developed more skill as an artist I love to work in a range of subject matter including energy art, visionary art and landscape, figurative and abstract art.
As an artist who travels extensively I has exhibited work inspired by my journeys through out many countries. My work is shown in private and gallery collections throughout the world.
