Kez is an Australian contemporary artist who divides time between her art studios in New York City and the beautiful shores of Lake Macquarie, NSW.

A strong desire to focus her creative energy to her first artistic love, painting, prompted a move to New York City where Kez pursued full-time art study with the Art Student's League. She is now I partner in and resident artist at Studio Back2Back in East Harlem, New York, USA.

Always keen to explore different techniques that offer new expressive possibilities, process and experimentation with technique and the celebration of color lie at the heart of Kez's creativity. So, although having ‘cut her teeth’ on representational painting, her current works are contemporary in style, exploring new mediums and color relationships through dripping, scraping and intermingling acrylic paint colors.

"I manipulate the paint on the canvas in layers producing a fusion of beautiful kaleidoscopic forms. The paint, water and chemicals, ebb and flow, evolving into a collision of vibrant colors; of textured overlays and fascinating effects. The mood and life of the painting created corresponds directly to the energy that I apply to this process. I view a successful abstract as painted by me to be one that celebrates both 'involuntaryism' and showcases the experience and skill of the artist's guiding hand.

I have absorbed, loved an pursued art, design and engagement with color all my life. In me, the passion to create with my hands is innate, powerful and emotive, and I am ever drawn toward stepping on that cyclical path of fear, indecision, bravery, vulnerability and passion. ”
