About

Born in Perth Western Australia, Sarah has grown up enjoying both the coastal and rural environments that surrounded her. She has described these surrounds as having offered an inexhaustible source of inspiration for her work. Drawing from this and her predominately self-taught experience in her mediums of choice, Sarah explores contemporary techniques and processes to interpret the unique nature of the Western Australian landscape. Through careful observations, she looks to respond to her immediate experiences and memories of the landscape providing a personal perspective. Whilst Sarah’s practice is always evolving, one thing that remains constant is her love for capturing the landscape its variety of forms and her desire to create a sense of balance using colour, texture and movement in her work. Sarah examines the landscape from above and uses a variety of methods and mediums including acrylics, inks and photography resulting in artworks that are reflective, harmonious, vibrant and full of emotion. Sarah’s work has been exhibited in many local group exhibitions, featured by West Elm and fills the homes of many private collectors locally, interstate and internationally. In addition to this, Sarah has also participated in charitable causes creating artwork for auctions for organisations such as Epilepsy Action Australia and Guide Dogs WA.
