About

SONJA ELISE ART BEGAN AS A FORM OF SELF GUIDED ART THERAPY. IN RECENT YEARS I HAVE GROWN AND CHANGED AND SO HAS MY WORK. I CONTINUE ON WITH THEMES OF SPIRITUALISM, DEATH, GRIEF; MORAL AND ETHICAL IDEALISM; AND LOVE, FAITH, HOPE AND HUMOUR, AS A REMINDER TO MYSELF AND OTHERS THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE, AND THE WORLD ISN'T AS SCARY AS IT SEEMS SOMETIMES. THE MEDIUMS I MOST LOVE ARE PRINTMAKING AND CERAMICS, AND MY FAVOURITE SUBJECTS TO DEPICT IN MY ART ARE ARCHITECTURE; RAILWAYS, TRAINS AND AEROPLANES; AND SPIRITS, ANGELS AND RELIGIOUS ICONS. I THINK DEEPLY ON LIFE AND DEATH, AND THE JOURNEY BEYOND DEATH. I SEE MY PATH IN LIFE IS TO USE MY ART TO DEMYSTIFY THIS PROCESS, AND TO BRING COMFORT, AND CREATE CONVERSATION AROUND A SUBJECT THAT TENDS TO BE TABOO.
