About

Sue-Anne McOnie is an award-winning artist from Sydney, Australia. She studied Fine Arts at Sydney University and has a Master of Arts and a Diploma in Education. Sue-Anne is an exhibiting member of the Kuring-gai Art Society and an exhibiting member of the Australian Society of Miniature Art and The World Federation of Miniaturists. She has exhibited in Australia, the UK and the USA. Sue-Anne has won several prizes including The Waterfront Prize in the North Sydney Art Prize. She is a multidisciplinary artist who works in a variety of mediums, including acrylic, watercolour, oil, gouache, pastel, copic markers, collage and mixed media, digital, ink and pencils. Her work varies in size from very large to miniature.
Sue-Anne likes to use a wide variety of media to explore different ideas and emotions. Often the work evolves during the process and the spontaneity of the finished product is exciting. The work evolves and changes during the process of experimenting with different materials. Creating the artwork is an exciting, evolving process where the process of working leads the artist down different, unexpected paths. The abstract expressionist paintings are created by the building up of many layers that create a complex image that is both expressive and emotive.
