Yosi Messiah’s career as an artist spans over 17 years. His successful career as a jewellery designer led him to expand on his creative profession and drew him closer to explore the art of painting. Yosi studied painting at Charlie Sheard’s School and did life drawing at Julian Ashton. Yosi built a successful reputation as an abstract painter but in 2010 he decided it’s time to move on and explore another style of painting. This new body of work is a departure from his abstract style but as Yosi says, “you never know, I may go back to abstract one day”. For now Yosi is very motivated to work loosely to bring his figurative work to life with his strong imagery, colours and themes.
