Artwork Description

Acrylic Paint on canvas

Signed with a certificate of authenticity.

Dulcie has painted Karlyapilyirra a site close to Pipaar, south of Balgo in the Great Sandy Desert. Central to the artwork is the the necessity of life in the desert - the waterhole. The white swirls indicate the saltpans, surrounded by sandhills (red and orange radiating lines) that shift with the seasons. The variety of colour and dots in the painting show the absundance of bush foods found in this country. Here, Duclie tells of her country, its heritage and its life giving gifts.
