Artwork Description

Highly textured surface with multiple layers of acrylic paint applied using various brushes attached to bamboo and depicting the outback Australian landscape. Artists who have influenced my work include Emily Kame Kngwarreye and Jackson Pollack.

Artist Bio

Heather Davis is a Central Coast based artist who has been actively involved with painting for the past 30 years.The Australian landscape and in particular, bushland and nature has been the subject of Heather's paintings for a number of years and the extensive colours and patterns found there. Heather particularly enjoys working with acrylic and oil paints using bright and bold colours and building up multi-layers of paint and texture. Heather also enjoys exploring various abstract approaches in representing her subject matter. Born in Port Macquarie she developed a passion for painting as a small child and completed the Advanced Diploma in Painting at Meadowbank Tafe and currently lives at Forresters Beach, NSW, Australia.
