Tree rhyhms Spoon Bay

I wanted to capture the various shapes and movements of the twisted and wind swept trees that gather along the shoreline slopes of Spoon Bay in a calligraphic style. I am constantly trying to convey the rhythmic dance in ink or charcoal initially and then later in acrylic paint with the use of sweeping brush strokes and harmonious colors.

Heather Davis is a Central Coast based artist who has been actively involved with painting for the past 30 years.The Australian landscape and in particular, bushland and nature has been the subject of Heather's paintings for a number of years and the extensive colours and patterns found there. Heather particularly enjoys working with acrylic and oil paints using bright and bold colours and building up multi-layers of paint and texture. Heather also enjoys exploring various abstract approaches in representing her subject matter. Born in Port Macquarie she developed a passion for painting as a small child and completed the Advanced Diploma in Painting at Meadowbank Tafe and currently lives at Forresters Beach, NSW, Australia.
