Artwork Description

This painting, Buddha with Lotus, is inspired by the timeless symbolism of peace, purity, and spiritual awakening. The serene face of Buddha represents inner calm and mindfulness, while the lotus flowers—emerging pure and radiant from dark waters—symbolize growth, resilience, and the beauty of life rising above challenges. I was inspired to create this piece as a reminder of the harmony between nature and spirituality. The interplay of earthy tones with vibrant greens, yellows, and whites captures both warmth and tranquility. The gentle effects of light and shadow bring depth to Buddha’s calm expression, inviting viewers to pause and reflect. This artwork has the power to lift a room by creating an atmosphere of peace, positivity, and balance. Whether placed in a living space, meditation corner, or office, Buddha with Lotus offers a calming presence and a daily reminder of inner strength and serenity.

Artist Bio

I am a Melbourne-based painter, and my work embodies the art of storytelling through colour, form, and tradition. Working mostly with acrylics and pen, I draw upon the richness of Indian art styles including Mandala, Alpana, Warli, Gond, Kalamkari and Madhubani painting, blending heritage with a contemporary ideas and patterns. Nature plays an important role in my art, becoming both subject and inspiration. Each of my paintings celebrates love, the positivity of life, and the deep connection between humanity and the natural world. Historical and mythological influences often intertwine with modern sensibilities, while the play of light and shadow adds depth and emotion to my work. I honour earthy tones alongside vibrant colours, creating pieces that reflect freedom, social awareness, and human sensitivity. For me, every painting is not just a visual expression but also a narrative that speaks of resilience, spirituality, and the beauty of life itself. I am new in Melbourne, Victoria, I continue to explore new ways of sharing cultural traditions through my art, offering viewers a journey that is at once personal, symbolic, and universal.
