Artwork Description

Sometimes mistakes can be the best thing for a painting - I finished this one quickly with a lot of medium It got splashed by the salt spray a few times and when I moved to stop being engulfed by the morning tide I dropped it in a rock pool. Turns out it actually improved the work. Made Tiny to assist with those hard to get at places…

Artist Bio

My painting represents an emotional journey through the Australian landscape, I resonate with places I live or have lived, worked, and journeyed. Studying Contemporary Fine Arts at UWS, I have a BA in Fine Arts and a Dip Ed after extensive study at UOW. Currently I teach Visual Arts to senior high school students in Sydney's West, passing a skill set of craftsmanship and knowledge built from a considerable art practice spanning more than 35 years. I relish in painting an emotional reaction to being in a space and bringing to life places that are looked at but rarely seen.

Working Plein Air, I enjoy a practice that takes me outside for the greater part where I am able to build on my knowledge and understanding of the spaces I bring to my audience. I have extensively exhibited my work throughout NSW, Australia and build continuously on a breadth of knowledge extending myself within a number of creative outlets, including; painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, digital art, animation, film and installation.
