Artwork Description

Mixed Media on wood, ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

…
Far bluer were skies,
Sun-bleached grasses pure gold,
The morn’s winter cold,
A coiled wire in the heart
Fuelling day and the night
High octane my way,
More awake was I then,
As asleep I walk now,
Long gone that V6
VK gum-leaf green
Gold mag shoes laced in rubber
Laid in lines on the roads,
By which I ruled nights
School next day be damned,
Engine cools as the dawn
Rises up while I dream
Of some greatness to come
Or some movie to see,
Or steep mountain to climb
Or cold waters to swim,
Simple things are the best
Seize what day’s part one can
Whether tail or by toe,
Time a fistful of grease
Does it loosen all grip
Like that car is she gone
Rearview mirror is life
Fate of day to escape
The clasp of young hands
That we cling to the most.
