portrait of Paul, a Printer that lived down the road from me in the mid-nineties when I was a High School senior. Often sitting out on the patio on weekends in a woollen aqua jumper with his missus, glasses of white wine in hand. He was always good for a chat when I was walking by on my never-ending travails by foot to buy Coke from the Grandchester Pub. With his own print shop in Ipswich he gave me a lot of advice on using different print /design media and life pointers in general. An accomplished author with a number of published novels set in Queensland. They were good, like Stephen King good. I didn’t know he’d authored any books at the time, having only recently read one he published back in 94. He motivated me a lot for the choices I made early on. One of those people you don't forget no matter how much time passes. I read in the newspaper a couple of years ago he took his own life. I couldn’t understand it.
