Artwork Description

#9 of 22. Dream Rendering. At the wheel of a car I come to a stop. The road has come to an end. Beyond road's end, a sandpit with a sandcastle in the middle. A stick poking out the top forking out in three different directions, each point ablaze. A mother and a child are standing by watch as I walk through it. To the side a gas station, another sandpit in the middle of the parking bay. It too with a branch poking out the top of a sandcastle, it too aflame. Not safe around a petrol bowser. I continue to walk, stepping over a pair of broken reading glasses in the dirt. I'm aware something is behind me. Turning around is a chimera of sorts. An alsatian's body with human head. Human head and human hands where the thing's feet should be. They're aflame. Looking back is a trail of fire, the thing leaving a long line of flaming footprints from all the way back to the car. It looks up at me and speaks.
