Extinction; The death of births.
…
Australia's National Disgrace.
The nightly death toll on our roads from coast to coast.
Thousands.
Poor possums. Kangaroos. Koalas. Echidnas. Lizards. Birds.
Slaughtered day in, day out. Night in, night out.
How does a marsupial die under wheel in a sixty zone? Apathy? Entertainment?
They die in the name of economy.
They die in the name of stupidity.
They die in the name of sheer cruelty.
And how do they die en-masse without care or concern?
How is it such a crime to hit and run a human, yet a broken roo or bird or possum laying in wait for the next set of tyres to crush his or her life out of their injured body is ok?
How many suckling marsupials die in the pouch of a slaughtered mother?
How would the uproar be were children to be slaughtered like this?
How long before the only marsupials we see are on coins? In books?
How do the callous murderers that couldn’t be bothered to slow or swerve sleep at night?
How smug would they be were it one of their family laying like a meat pie on the bitumen, driven over and over until they are a rotting red paper-thin pulp?
Are humans the only species to feel pain?
Are humans the only species to love?
Are we the only species to feel fear?
Another day, another night, another thousand deaths.
With Operation Big Australia in full effect not only are the species having their habitat destroyed to house people we don’t need yet have shipped in en-masse for the gain of a select few, but with nowhere to go marsupials en-masse are ending up on suburban roads and highways in front of killers that don’t care. Profits. Profits. Profits.
An utterly shameful disgrace……but it’s good for the rich man’s economy, and that’s all that fucking matters to them.
